Overview

What is New Jersey Clean Energy Program's CORE Rebate Program?

Small Wind Equipment Photovoltaic Equipment Biomass Equipment Fuel Cell Equipment

The New Jersey Clean Energy Program offers the support to help implement renewable energy generation technologies and systems. To help you get started the program also includes financial incentives to owners who install qualified clean energy generation systems in New Jersey. These systems will enable you or your organization to produce your own renewable electricity while helping protect the environment and reducing strain on the grid (existing electric transmission and distribution systems).  As a result, you will see savings on your utility bills.

The CORE Rebate Program, or Customer On-Site Renewable Energy Rebate Program, supports a variety of technologies, such as solar, wind, and biopower.  New applications for solar projects are not being accepted until 2009.  However, incentives for wind and biopower projects are still available.  Once you enroll, you will receive information to guide you in becoming more energy efficient and more self-sufficient. You’ll learn technology basics, what costs to expect, what benefits you’ll enjoy and how to make informed purchases.

What Are Your Reasons?

People buy clean energy generation systems for a variety of reasons, such as a desire to:

  • reduce pollution
  • stabilize electric costs
  • lessen dependence on fossil fuels
  • increase self-reliance
  • increase local jobs & economic development
  • preserve natural resources
  • make a long-term commitment to the planet’s future
  • strengthen energy security & long term affordability

Whatever your reasons for clean energy generation, the New Jersey Clean Energy Program offers you assistance, including financial incentives, technical support and educational materials (available both on-line and in print). The Federal Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EREN) has on-line information that is useful in your initial research (check out the Solar, Wind and Biomass links at www.eere.energy.gov/).
