ENERGY STAR is a voluntary labeling program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Retail organizations selling, marketing, and promoting ENERGY STAR qualified products offer businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions, making it easy to save money while protecting the environment for future generations. By joining New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program – ENERGY STAR Products an organization becomes an ENERGY STAR Partner and can benefit from program offerings. By creating New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program – ENERGY STAR Products, New Jersey can support the national program, working together to promote ENERGY STAR labeled lighting products, appliances and windows. These products will help New Jersey residents reduce energy use, save money, and help protect the environment.

The ENERGY STAR Products program offers the following array of services, at no cost, to participating retailers throughout the state to assist in increasing sales of ENERGY STAR labeled products.

• Point-of-purchase (POP) materials: The Program will provide and install a variety of optional POP materials to help customers identify ENERGY STAR labeled products. Lighting, appliance, and window POP materials are aligned with the national promotions sponsored by the EPA, such as “Change A Light, Change the World” and “Cool Your World”.
• Employee training: The Program will train retail sales associates so they understand the benefits of ENERGY STAR labeled products, which can help increase sales.
• Special recognition: A program participant may opt for special public recognition on the New Jersey Clean Energy Program website (www.njcleanenergy.com).
• Additional services: Special lighting events to promote sales of ENERGY STAR labeled lighting products. Additional services may also include incentives to reduce the cost of ENERGY STAR labeled products; in-store promotions and demonstrations; and promotional events to highlight benefits of ENERGY STAR labeled products.
