HVAC Portal

Note: Select energy efficiency programs for existing homes are transitioning to the utility companies

To learn more about this transition and for utility contact information please visit this page.

Utility customers who purchased appliances or HVAC equipment prior to July 1, 2021 may still submit their projects to NJCEP’s Appliance Rebate Program or the WARM/COOL Advantage Program for heating, cooling, and water heating equipment. Customers will have 180 days to submit their rebate. Appliances and HVAC equipment purchased on or after July 1, 2021 will be eligible for utility-run rebate programs.

The Appliance Recycling Program will no longer be available beginning July 1, 2021. All appliance pick-ups through NJCEP must be completed by June 30, 2021. Please contact your utility for more information about available recycling programs if you are unable to schedule a Recycling Pickup before June 30, 2021.

HVAC Portal Information

The HVAC Portal provides contractors and customers with access to online application portals for the WARM and COOLAdvantage Programs.

You may find the abbreviated guide of how to use the online portal helpful.

It is highly recommended that customers or contractors submit applications online for quick and easy submissions. The HVAC portals can also be accessed and utilized via Tablet and Smart Phones (Android, iPhone).

Important for Submitting Accurate Applications

Submit one of the following: UPC Labels, official registration certificate, distributor's invoice OR pictures of equipment plates

  • Registration certificates must be from the manufacturer and must contain the customer's name and installation address.
  • Model AND serial numbers must be printed and legible on any documentation provided.
  • Any heating and/or cooling equipment you install under New Jersey's Clean Energy Program may be subject to random verification inspections conducted by the program team.  It is crucial to ensure that the customer’s phone number is accurate.
  • Collect the permit number on applications or a copy of the permit application to be submitted.
  • Submit a copy of the AHRI certificate with WARMAdvantage applications; if not available, a copy of the ENERGY STAR® listing may be provided instead.
  • Please refer to the latest eligible measures document for a full list of eligible equipment and rebates.
  • Call 866-NJSMART should you have any questions or email Outreach@NJCleanEnergy.com and we will connect you to an Outreach Account Manager, who will assist you and answer your questions.  Thank you.

HVAC Processing Update as of 06.07.21

  • The HVAC program (WARM/COOLAdvantage) has been experiencing longer than normal delays in processing rebate applications. We are working diligently to get caught up and appreciate your patience as we do our best to process all applications. This timeline will be revised/updated periodically as we work through our backlog and towards reducing our processing timeframes.
  • As we go through the application review process, we may need to contact you for any missing or incomplete information before we can confirm your eligibility for a rebate. Please be diligent in providing the missing information as soon as you can to avoid further delays.
  • Applications received end of February are now being reviewed. We will continue to update this information on a weekly basis.
  • When your application has been approved for a rebate, you will receive notification by email. From that point, you can expect to receive your rebate within 60 days.
  • As a reminder, customers and contractors can check on the status of individual applications at any time via the portals above.

Bonus Incentives

Please note that all homeowners located in a designated Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) may be eligible for an additional $200 incentive per unit for the purchase of qualifying equipment (above). Verification of homes being located in a designated UEZ required. Visit the NJ Community Asset Map to determine if the address falls into an Urban Enterprise Zone to qualify for an additional incentive.

Low to moderate income (LMI) residents or projects identified as an affordable housing project may be eligible for an incentive of $200 per each eligible measure. Residents may benefit from only one bonus incentive: UEZ, LMI or affordable housing incentive. Apply here for the LMI incentive. Visit the eligible measures document for the affordable housing definition.
